East Austin Bachelorette Party Guide

It's no secret that Austin is becoming the latest and greatest spot for all things bachelorette. With no shortage of nightlife, places to stay, and fun to be had, East Austin is the perfect setting for your bachelorette weekend. We know planning a weekend-long celebration for all of your friends can feel overwhelming, but look no further– we have compiled our guide to the perfect East Austin Bachelorette.

When to Visit

If you have not locked down a date yet, we find that the spring is the best time of year to visit Austin. It's warm enough for outdoor and water activities, but not as scorching as the July and August temperatures we have to bear.

Where to Stay

Whether you’re looking for a relaxing weekend with a few close friends or a huge bash with your entire girl gang, East Austin is home to plenty of options.

East Austin Hotel

With a Palm Springs meets Austin vibe, the East Austin hotel offers a variety of room options to accommodate your needs– from luxury poolside suites to European-style rooms with shared bathrooms. If you prefer to hang out on the property the hotel houses a rooftop restaurant as well as a poolside bar, but if you want to venture out they are located close to downtown with plenty of things to do if you’re looking to hit the town.

House Rentals

Another option that is increasingly popular among brides is renting a house instead– it provides a party location where you can all spend time together, as opposed to all separating in your hotel rooms each night. As Austin’s bachelorette scene has grown, so has the number of rental properties.  Below are a couple of our favorites as examples, but we recommend searching “Austin Bachelorette” on sites like Airbnb and VRBO and seeing all that Austin has to offer.

Brunch

Brunch with the girls is truly a must on your bachelorette weekend, especially after a night out. There are endless possibilities for brunch in Austin, but these are just a few of our favorites located in East Austin.

Paperboy Austin

Reservations for up to 8 guests can be made online, and they also offer patio rental for 9-22 guests. With a great cocktail menu and an option for mimosa carafes, this is a great location for girls brunch. We recommend booking ahead, as it gets busy on weekends.

Suerte Austin

With a menu inspired by traditional flavors of Mexico, brunch at Suerte is both delicious and unique. They take reservations for up to 8 guests, and also offer semi-private dining experiences either indoors or on their patio for larger parties. We recommend booking ahead, as it gets busy on weekends!

Dish Society

With brunch daily, Dish Society offers a yummy brunch menu and an array of coffee and tea drinks as well as mocktails, juices, and of course, cocktails! A Houston favorite that is relatively new to Austin, this brunch spot is sure to please everyone. They don’t take reservations, so if you're traveling with a large group it may be best to call ahead.

Activities

You can truly never run out of fun things to do in Austin, but these are just a few of our favorites that are perfect for a bachelorette weekend with your girl gang.

Boat Rental on the Lake

If you’re here in the spring and summer, there is no better way to celebrate (and cold down) than renting a boat on the lake. It's a great way to get outdoors, drink with friends, and celebrate the bride.

Retro Boats Austin

Especially great for smaller bachelorette parties, these retro boats are a fun addition to any weekend. They are actual vintage fiberglass boats from 1958-1964 with vibrant colors and unique designs. Guests are allowed to pack their own drinks, so you can keep the vibes going. These boats make for a lively activity and great photos, and will create an unforgettable memory for you and the gals!

Love and Boat Austin

Love and Boat rents out donut boats on Lake Austin, set up for a picnic on the water. You may need more than one if you’re traveling with a larger group, but luckily their packages are highly customizable based on your needs, so we recommend taking a look at their website.

Private Yoga Class

Bridal Yoga Private Class

It's always nice to add in a mix of movement and relaxation to your bachelorette weekend. Bride Vibe Yoga hosts private yoga classes for weddings and bachelorette parties in any space you choose. They also offer packages that include yoga mats and post-class champagne, so you can truly make the experience your own.

Live Music

You can't come to the live music capital of the world without seeing a live show or two! We’ve listed a few of our favorite venues to catch a show at, but many of the East Austin bars are known for their live music, so no matter where you end up, music in Austin is hard to miss. We would also of course love to provide live music, so inquire here to book us!

Emo's Austin

Originating in the early 90s, Emo's has always brought authentic personality to the Austin music scene. They bring in artists from all over the world, and are a local favorite to catch a show. Visit their website to see who's playing the weekend you’re in town.

Scoot Inn Austin

An outdoor venue perfect for the spring and summer, Historic Scoot Inn is the host to a variety of artists in every genre. They are almost always general admission, and have a full bar and food available. Scoot is the oldest continuously running beer joint in Central Texas (since 1871), so it is full of history and brings an undeniably-Austin vibe to any show.

The White Horse Austin

A little more honky-tonk than concert venue, The White Horse could fit under both of these categories, making it a great addition to your bachelorette weekend. They have live music every night of the week, and are perfect if you want to two-step and line dance the night away. They offer two step lessons every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and have a taco truck every night of the week.

East Austin Bars

Going out can create some of the best memories of your bachelorette weekend, and East Austin has a plethora of fun and unique spots to host your girls night out!

The Butterfly Bar at the Vortex Austin

Owned by The Vortex live theatre and doubling as a nationally certified butterfly sanctuary, The Butterfly Bar is a one-of-a-kind establishment. They offer live music, and are perfect for a sit down day drink, or a night out on the weekend.

Kitty Cohen's Austin

Kitty Cohen’s cocktail bar and patio lounge is a great poolside hangout with tasty cocktails and a great happy hour deal on weekday afternoons. We think this spot makes a great stop for drinks in the afternoon before you head to dinner and hit the town for the night.

Skylark Lounge Austin

Known for their blues and soul music, the Skylark Lounge is another perfect spot for drinks and live music. They are only open from 5pm to midnight, so the Skylark Lounge will fit well earlier in the lineup for the night.

Zilker Brewing Company Austin

This taproom hosts family-style seating, Spicy Boys Chicken food truck, and some of the best beer in Austin. An excellent afternoon hang out or stop for lunch, this brewing company also offers wine, cider, and seltzer options, so there is something for everyone in your party.

Lolo Wine Bar Austin

This Natural Wine Bar has mostly outdoor seating, snacks, and all the wine you’ll need, a must for a bachelorette party. If you have a group over 10, we would suggest making a reservation; however, they also have plenty of seating if you do just want to drop by.

No matter how you end up spending your time in Austin, we hope you enjoy celebrating your upcoming marriage with your girlfriends!
